A Message on Racial Injustice
Support Kansas City has stood alongside our partners in the nonprofit community for the last twenty years. Recent events across our country have prompted us to ask if we as an organization are doing enough.
What more can be done to affect positive change in our community? How can we better understand the voices of the unheard? These questions can lead to some uncomfortable answers, but it is absolutely necessary to ask them.
Racial and social injustice is a systemic problem in our nation today. Injustice has no place in our community; we realize this and are committed to being a part of the solution. This means speaking up in support of injustices against the black community in our city and beyond.
Support Kansas City is committed to listening to the voices of the black community, our employees, funders, and clients so that we may understand their story and become better allies. We are committed to the continued support of our nonprofit partners and our community peers who fight to end racial and social injustices each and every day.
It is important that we listen to our community, but it is equally important to take action. This is why we will be publishing an update in the near future on how we are planning on making a positive impact in the black community in the coming weeks, months, and years.
